Why we collect your location? — Your city, state, and country are used exclusively to power the CityMates feature, which helps you discover and connect with fellow students from your city who are studying at the same college. This makes it easier to find familiar faces and build local connections on campus.
2.2 User-Generated Content
Content you create or submit within the app, including:
- Items listed in Campus Shop (buy/sell posts, descriptions, photos)
- Lost & Found listings and related details
- Event-related participation data or submissions
2.3 Usage Data
We also automatically collect certain technical information:
- Login activity and session timestamps
- App interactions and feature usage patterns
- Basic, non-sensitive device information (e.g., OS type, app version)
How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect solely to improve your experience and operate the application effectively. Specifically:
- Provide and maintain core application functionality
- Enable Campus Shop to connect buyers and sellers within your campus
- Manage and display Lost & Found listings
- Display, manage, and promote campus events
- Power the CityMates feature to help you discover students from your city within your college
- Improve user experience and optimize app performance
- Send important notifications including updates, announcements, and alerts
Campus Shop Disclaimer
The Campus Shop feature is designed to connect students within the same campus community. Please be aware of the following:
- Collaj acts only as a platform connecting buyers and sellers — we are not a retailer or marketplace operator
- We do not own, sell, verify, or endorse any listed items
- We are not responsible for transactions, payments, disputes, or any loss arising between users
- Users are strongly advised to transact safely and exercise their own judgment
Always meet in safe, public locations on campus when completing transactions. Collaj is not liable for any disputes arising from Campus Shop interactions.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.
We may share data only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers — such as Google, for authentication (sign-in) and secure database storage
- Legal authorities — only if required by applicable law, court order, or regulatory requirement
Your personal data is never sold to advertisers or third-party marketing platforms.

Events Information
Event data displayed within the Collaj app may be provided by colleges, student groups, clubs, or individual users. While we strive to keep event information current and accurate:
- We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of event listings
- We are not responsible for cancellations, changes, or inaccuracies in third-party event data
- We encourage users to verify event details through official college channels
Children's Privacy
Collaj is intended exclusively for college and university students. The application is not directed at children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child has used our service, please contact us right away.
